Burning Witches is a heavy metal band founded in 2015 in Switzerland.

In 2017, Burning Witches released their self-titled debut album, directed by V.O. Pulver (Poltergeist, Gurd) and Marcel "Schmier" Schirmer (Destruction). The album was distributed through the crowdfunding platform Pledge Music. The album reached number 73 in the Swiss album charts. Shortly after the release, Burning Witches began songwriting for their next album. In February 2018, Nuclear Blast Records announced they had signed the band.

The second album, “Hexenhammer”, was released in November 2018. The album reached number 43 in the German album charts and number 21 in Switzerland. In June 2019, singer Seraina Telli left the band to focus on her own band, Dead Venus. She was succeeded by Dutch singer Laura Guldemond from the band Shadowrise.

In the Summer of 2019, Burning Witches played at the WackenSummer Breeze and Rockharz Open Air festivals. Their third album, “Dance with the Devil”, produced by Pulver and Schirmer, was released in March 2020. “Dance with the Devil” entered the German and Swiss album charts at number 22 and 14 respectively. A few months later, Nusselder left the band after founding the death metal band Crypta with former Nervosa musicians Fernanda Lira and Luana Dametto. Larissa Ernst then took over as lead guitarist. Ernst would later be replaced by Courtney Cox from the Iron Maidens.

In December, the band released “The Circle of Five” EP before recording their fourth studio album, “The Witch of the North”. The album was again produced by Schirmer and mixed and mastered by V.O. Powder.

The album was released in May 2021. The album entered the German and Swiss album charts at number 16 and 6 respectively. In February 2022, the band signed a new record deal with the Austrian record label Napalm Records. Their first tour of the United States with The Iron Maidens occurred in 2022.

In 2023, the band would release their fifth album, “The Dark Tower”, on Napalm Records. On fifteen energetic tracks, “Dark Tower” rings the bells for a midnight mass. Opening with “Unleash The Beast”, roaring, dueling guitars battle each other with top-notch, fast-paced performances while the energy of the song rises to its climax when the sharp voice of singer Laura Guldemond combines with powerful harmonies. With “The Dark Tower”, Burning Witches not only brought back the glory days of heavy metal, but pushed it beyond - trapping the soul of each listener with energetic performances.

Since 2022, Burning Witches has completed 5 successful American tours including one tour supporting KK’s Priest (featuring founding Judas Priest member, KK Downing), along with 4 headlining tours. Their American following has grown exponentially since 2022, and the band was even invited to play a show at the Rock Hall of Fame in Ohio. The Rock Hall will also include Burning Witches stage clothing and instruments in their Women of Rock exhibit being launched in 2026, a huge honor for all musicians.

In August of 2025, the band would release their sixth album, “Inquisition” (Napalm Records).
